The PTM-92-4000 replaces Norbar’s PTM-92-3500 in the existing PTM-92 series. The new multiplier offers an increase in torque output from the 92mm gearbox, made possible with a new output carrier manufactured from a high strength, specialist steel. The update comes as part of Norbar’s on-going policy of continual improvement.

The Banbury based company has invested more than £1.6 million in new machinery, which includes the acquisition of two new Mori Seiki NTX mill-turn machines which are being used to machine electronic and gearbox products, including transducer shafts.

Norbar Torque Tools has appointed Jeremy Tucker as its new UK and Ireland business manager. Jeremy’s appointment comes as part of an expansion to Norbar’s global sales team. Jeremy will be responsible for managing sales and profitability throughout Norbar’s existing distribution network and is tasked with maximising torque solutions opportunities within the UK and Irish markets.

Norbar Torque Tools officially opened its new premises at Wildmere Road, Banbury on Wednesday 19th September with an on-site evening party for employees and special guests, including Sir Tony Baldry MP for Banbury, the Mayor of Banbury Cllr Tony Ilott and the Chairman of Cherwell District Council, Cllr Colin Clarke. This 170,000 sq ft production site is over three times the size of their present site Banbury head office and factory at Beaumont Road and will allow them to expand their manufacturing output in order to meet increased worldwide demand for their products.

Important structural changes to the management team at Norbar’s representative company in Australia are taking place that also affect Norbar companies in New Zealand and Singapore. Matt Packer is to become Managing Director of Norbar Torque Tools Pty, based in Adelaide, South Australia and with offices in Western Australia, Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales. He is to take over the position from his father Leigh Packer, who will remain Executive Director of the company and be able to devote more of his time to managing Norbar companies in New Zealand and Singapore.

Norbar Torque Tools of Banbury, celebrating its 70th Anniversary this year, has triumphed at the Oxfordshire Business Awards 2012 by being voted the county’s top exporter. The Carter Jonas Export Award was presented to Norbar by athletics star Kriss Akabusi at the recent Awards Gala Dinner at Oxford Thames Four Pillars Hotel.
