"During my second year at University I was required to complete a 5-week work placement. I chose to complete mine in Norbar Torque Tools Ltd’s calibration laboratory so that I could see how an accredited laboratory is managed and how it feels to be an employee within one.
Norbar provided this experience to me with great generosity. They allowed me to sit into meetings, work alongside employees in different areas of the laboratory and much more. They took time to teach me as much as they could and continually checked that they were providing me with everything I wanted to get out of my placement. As a female who had no experience of working in an engineering environment, I was gladly surprised by how comfortable and welcome I felt throughout my 5 weeks. The work that is done at Norbar is fascinating and I think that more females should look into an engineering career.
I would highly recommend Norbar as a work placement as they truly do care that they are providing you with the experience that you require."

“I completed my work experience at Norbar Torque Tools this year and it was one of the best placements available in Manufacturing Engineering. I got to see what the manufacturing world is like within a successful company. I saw both the engineering and business sides of the company, with time spent in design, assembly, manufacturing and customer relations. I also had the opportunity to meet a lot of friendly people who gave me advice on my future career.
If you are interested in pursuing a career in manufacturing engineering, then I believe that this is the right company for your work experience placement.”
