New Torque Extension App from Norbar

Norbar Torque Tools has released a new App as a free iPhone and Android download.  Based on Norbar’s online Torque Wrench Extension Calculator at www.norbar.com, the new App will calculate what value you need to set on a torque wrench to achieve the desired level of torque when the wrench is extended. Putting an extension on a torque wrench increases the level of torque being applied to a fastener – the longer the wrench, the greater the torque.

Norbar Ultrasonic Instrument Shows New Real Time Measurement Capabilities

A chance experiment on a wind farm in Texas has demonstrated an example of the non-traditional applications that can be carried out by Norbar’s portable USM-3 ultrasonic bolt meter, which provides precise measurements for the elongation (resolution to 0.0001 mm) and load in threaded fasteners. It is known to be incredibly versatile, being able to undertake measurements for fasteners measuring from 25mm to over 15m long. What was not widely appreciated before is how it can provide precise real-time measurements of forces affecting a bolted joint, in this case a 2m long foundation bolt on a wind turbine tower.

Norbar's Non-Magnetic Range Extended

Norbar Torque Tools has launched a new 50 N·m Non-magnetic Torque Wrench to complement its 20 N·m version introduced last year. Norbar's Non-magnetic Torque Wrenches have important applications in the medical field, specifically for MRI manufacture and maintenance, where there is the presence of a strong magnetic field. Using non-magnetic tools on MRI Scanners can avoid serious risk of injury to the operator and damage to sensitive and expensive equipment.

Norbar Launches Hydraulic Wrench Testers

Norbar Torque Tools has launched a new range of products for testing hydraulic torque wrenches from 250 N·m up to 80,000 N·m. Comprised of a Hydraulic Tool Calibration Fixture and a Transducer, which link to a Torque Measuring Instrument, these devices will accurately calibrate both square drive and hexagon link torque wrenches.

Team Norbar's 17 cyclists raised approximately £1850 for the Against Breast Cancer charity by taking part in the Classic Oxfordshire Sponsored Bike Ride (CLOX 2011) on Sunday 8th May.

Norbar Highlights Torque for Caravan Safety

Following a product recall by a leading British caravan manufacturer because of a number of reports of detached wheels, the world leading torque specialist Norbar Torque Tools has emphasised the need to ensure that the correct manufacturer specified level of torque is applied to the caravan wheel nuts.

Testing Time for Torque Screwdrivers

Norbar Torque Tools is expanding its TruCheck™ range of torque wrench testers with the introduction of three new products specifically designed to calibrate torque screwdrivers. The new Norbar TruCheck™ Screwdriver Testers will allow operators to perform quick and simple calibration checks from easy-to-read LED displays without the need to call on third party calibration services, saving both time and expense.
