Distributors: In addition to our laboratory services, most of Norbar's distributors offer repair, calibration & recalibration services. Several have calibration accreditation from their local standards organisations.
How Norbar was born – from wartime need to universal demand: Established in 1942, the "North Bar Tool Company" became the first company in Britain to commercially manufacture torque wrenches. The initial demand was driven by the need for the gasket-less cylinder head of the Rolls Royce Merlin engine to be accurately tightened. Bill Brodey and his partner Ernest Thornitt obtained a license from Britain's wartime Government to begin manufacture of torque wrenches and Norbar was born.
Family values - Norbar is solely owned by the descendants of the founder, Bill Brodey. The company remains every bit as passionate today about providing customers with the highest quality products and services as Bill was when manufacturing that first torque wrench.
Norbar Torque Tools, Inc. Machining Center
In 2013 Norbar Torque Tools, Inc. added a Haas CNC machine to our Machining Center. Previously we added a Birmingham Bridgeport and a Kent RML 16 x 40 Lathe, both with Acu-Rite controllers. We also have a new Lincoln 256 Power-MIG welder in the machining center.
These machines give us the capabilities to produce custom-engineered accessories and purpose-built torque solutions for the full line of Norbar products – from API Class adapters, to one-off torque reactions. When combined with our in-house Design-Engineering, the Machining Center gives us one additional level of Quality Control, allowing us to better maintain the Norbar quality our customers have come to expect. We are also better able to reduce lead times for special ordered components.
